LASeR community event in Tripoli

Mission & History

Fifteen years in the making.

Masahet Nour is the culmination of LASeR's mission, from scholarships to employment to a space you can call home.

Our North Star

A space of light where our youth can learn, work, connect and shine brighter than ever.

Masahet Nour was not a spontaneous idea. It is the accumulation of fifteen years of experience, research, and patient work alongside the youth of Tripoli and the North.

Since the launch of LASeR in 2009, our goals evolved, from supporting Masters and PhD students to offering university and school scholarships, to youth empowerment programs helping young people unlock their full potential.

In recent years, LASeR launched Tashغeel, three months of technical training, soft-skills training, and career coaching, designed to bridge the gap between fresh graduates and the real needs of the job market.

All these programs, scholarships, and experiences led us to one conclusion. Tripoli needs a space of light, and that's why we built one.

Our Journey

From research to community.

Fifteen years of LASeR's work, from the first scholarship to the opening of Masahet Nour.

2009

LASeR is founded

40 university professors come together in Tripoli to launch the Lebanese Association for Scientific Research, believing in education reform and student access to university.

2010–2015

Scholarships & academic support

LASeR supports Masters and PhD students, then expands to university and school scholarships, interest-free educational loans, and institutional support for universities.

2016–2020

Youth empowerment programs

A new generation of programs helping young and upcoming people enhance their skills, build their personalities, and unlock their full potential, beyond pure academics.

2021

Tashgheel launches

A new line of action: three months of technical and soft-skills training plus career coaching and corporate internships, designed to bridge the gap between fresh graduates and the job market.

2024

Masahet Nour opens

All the lessons of the past fifteen years converge into one physical place, a 24/7 coworking and community space in the heart of Tripoli.

Tashغeel · تَشغيل

Bridging the gap.
Fresh grad → first hire.

Tashغeel prepares selected candidates with technical and digital business skills for employment. After training (soft + hard skills), trainees do a 3-month corporate or project internship, supervised by a LASeR-appointed mentor.

01

Soft Skills Training

Career readiness: personality test, CV, interview practice. Business skills: communication, teamwork. Human interaction: problem-solving, time management.

02

Technical Skills Training

Three months of focused training in a chosen technical domain, picked together with the trainee based on their major and the market's needs.

03

Career Coaching

One-on-one coaching to sharpen skills, knowledge, and performance, making sure each trainee is genuinely ready for a successful career, not just credentialed.

04

Mentorship

A personalised journey for each trainee's major and profile, with regular follow-up on performance, real feedback, and clear next steps.

05

Internships

3-month corporate or project internship, with a small income paid in fresh dollars. LASeR provides IT infrastructure (electricity, internet, laptops) when needed.

06

Volunteering

We help trainees identify volunteering opportunities and connect them with organisations, building experience, networks, and a sense of contribution.

No dream should perish because of a lack of funding.
